Moore Tech Insight

Converting NinjaTrader 7 code to NinjaTrader 8 is not always a direct syntax update. Some scripts should be modernized. Some should be rebuilt. The right path depends on the age of the code, the platform features used, and whether the original behavior is still clear.

Moore Tech can review older files through the NinjaTrader programmer quote path.

What to send for an NT7 to NT8 conversion

Send:

  • the original NinjaTrader 7 files
  • screenshots of expected behavior
  • any compile errors or install errors
  • the intended NinjaTrader 8 chart setup
  • notes on what still works and what does not
  • whether the script is an indicator, strategy, add-on, or utility

Conversion or rebuild?

Conversion may make sense when the original rules are clear and the old code is reasonably clean. Rebuild may be better when the code is fragile, undocumented, or tied to behavior that no longer fits the current workflow.

Moore Tech can help identify whether the cleanest path is conversion, modernization, repair, or a new NinjaTrader 8 build.

Next step

If you have older NT7 code, request a NinjaTrader programming review and include the files, screenshots, and target behavior.
